Located at the north of Sivas, Yıldız Mountain is 2552 meters high and consists of gabbro-type rocks. In the upper part of the mountain, which is 58 km away from the city center, endemic plants and wide forests plunge especially in the western skirts. From the middle of November to the end of March, it is covered with snow, with its solid ground structure and snow quality, and with its beauty, Yıldız Mountain has features that can serve both nature and geothermal as well as winter tourism. The ancient and aesthetic travertine formations found in the region, waterfalls and streams are important natural beings.
Yıldız Mountain; the archaeological works on the western slope, the Star Pond in the south, the waterfalls and caverns, the unique natural beauties and the endemic plant species it hosts are one of the indispensable stopping places for nature lovers. The slope varies between 12 and 24 degrees on the north-eastern edge of the ski center. All these values show how the Star Mountain has the ideal geographic and topographic features as a ski resort.
According to observations made in the mountain and obtained from the sounding, avalanche, landslide, rockfall, flood etc. there is no risk of any natural disaster. There is no obstacle to building due to natural disaster in Yıldız Mountain. Yıldız Mountain Winter Sports Tourism Center Area is located in the north eastern part of the mountain. There is a wide curved interior slope that covers the entire area to start from the northern edge of the area to be built of ski areas. This inclination is a significant advantage in terms of the fact that it is kept on the ground of the falling snow and is not taken away by the wind, and if the region does not have too much wind. The fog, which is the worst nightmare of many ski resorts, is hardly experienced on the edge of the ski resort. Yıldız Mountain is a very snowy region on the transition corridor of the Black Sea Region and Central Anatolia Region.
Yıldız Mountain Winter Sports Center is in a position to address about 4.5 million people together with Sivas and others.
